    Labor History Calendar November

    November labor history includes key events such as the 1835 Philadelphia general strike for a 10-hour workday, the 1887 massacre of striking Louisiana sugar workers, and the 1909 "Uprising of the 20,000" garment workers' strike in New York. Other significant events include the execution of labor leader Joe Hill in 1915, the 1919 soft coal miners' strike, and the 1959 Steel Strike, which was the largest in U.S. history at the time.
