    Labor History Calendar October

October is a significant month in labor history, marked by events like the 1910 Los Angeles Times bombing during a union struggle, the 1938 signing of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which established the 40-hour work week in 1940, and the 1981 decertification of the PATCO air traffic controllers' union. Other notable October events include the 1914 signing of the Clayton Antitrust Act and the 1949 formation of the National Labor Council to unite Black workers.
