    Contact Elected Officials!

    Labor History Calendar AUGUST

The first APWU National Convention was held in 1972, following the founding of the American Postal Workers Union that same year. This inaugural convention marked the official start of the union’s biennial tradition, bringing together delegates from across the country to establish policies and set the direction for the newly formed organization.

The APWU National Convention is held every two years (biennially), with recent conventions in 2024 (Detroit) and 2026 (Los Angeles). It is a central event for APWU governance, where delegates debate and vote on union policy, labor issues, and constitutional amendments.

This month’s APWU Live is all about you and your questions.

There’s a lot coming at postal workers right now. Every week seems to bring another headline about the Postal Service. What’s happening with the Postmaster General? Where is the Postal Service headed? What does a change in Washington mean for your job? How can you make more money? And with so many opinions and hot takes flying around, who should you actually listen to?

So this month’s APWU Live is putting the spotlight where it belongs: on you and your questions.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m ET / 4 p.m. PT, National President Jonathan Smith and other APWU national officers will go straight into the questions postal workers are asking right now.

For the first time, APWU Live will feature video and audio questions submitted directly by postal workers. Your question could be played live on the broadcast and answered by APWU national officers.
